Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026 Version: 0.1 (draft)
This policy explains what information Sumrise collects, why, who handles it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
1. Who we are
Sumrise is operated by Coby Williams, a sole trader in Australia, ABN 52 426 073 445. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Coby Williams trading as Sumrise.

2. What Sumrise does and does not do
Sumrise is a web app for setting savings goals, adding photos, tracking progress and planning payments. It does not hold or move money. It does not connect to your bank accounts, so we never receive bank logins or account details.
3. What we collect
What you give us
- Your email address, and your sign-in details (a password if you use email sign-in, or your Google account details if you sign in with Google).
- Your first name, if you choose to add it.
- Your confirmation that you are 14 or over.
- Your chosen saving currency.
- Your boards, goals, items and target amounts.
- The savings you log, including dates and amounts.
- An optional link you add to an item.
- Photos you add to your goals.
- Feedback you send us.
What we create or receive about your account
- Your billing status (for example, Free or Premium, and when it renews). We do not collect or store card numbers. Card payments are handled by our payment providers, Stripe and RevenueCat.
- Basic technical data when you use the site, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting and security services handle to keep Sumrise running and safe.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your bank details, card numbers or any account information from your bank.
4. Why we collect it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To store and show you your goals, photos and progress.
- To take payment and manage your plan when paid plans are on.
- To send you messages about your account, such as sign-in, billing and, when you ask, product news.
- To keep Sumrise secure, fix errors and stop misuse.
- To understand, in a general way, how Sumrise is used so we can improve it (only after you agree, see Cookies).
- To show ads to people on the Free plan (only after you agree).
- To reply to your feedback and questions.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
5. Who handles your information
We use these companies to run Sumrise. They handle information on our behalf.
| Company | What they do | What they may handle |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Accounts, sign-in, storing your data and photos | Your account data, goals, entries and photos |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, delivery and security for our website | IP address and request data |
| Stripe | Card payments, when we turn on payments | Payment and billing details |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status, when we turn on payments | User ID, email and purchase status |
| PostHog | Usage analytics, when we turn on analytics | Usage events, without names or amounts |
| Sentry | Error reports, to fix problems | Technical error details |
| Brevo | Sending emails | Your email address, name and the message |
| Google AdSense | Ads shown to people on the Free plan | Cookie and device identifiers, after you agree |
Not live yet. Payments and analytics are not turned on at the moment. When we turn on payments, Stripe and RevenueCat will start handling billing details. When we turn on analytics, PostHog will start counting usage, and only after you agree. We will update this policy when that happens.
We do not sell your information.
6. Where your information is stored
Your Sumrise account data and photos are stored with Google in a data centre in Singapore.
Some of the companies above are based in, or process information in, other places, including the United States and the European Union. This means your information can be handled outside Australia. We choose providers that have their own security and privacy commitments. By using Sumrise you understand that your information may be handled in these places.
7. How long we keep it
- We keep your goals, entries and photos for as long as your account is open.
- You can delete a goal at any time. This removes its items, history and photo.
- You can delete your account in Settings. This removes your goals, photos and history, and cancels any subscription.
- Deleted information can remain in our backups for up to 35 days before it is cleared.
- Our payment provider may keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
8. Your rights
In Australia. Under the Privacy Act 1988 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
In the UK and Europe. Under the UK GDPR and the GDPR you can also ask us to give you a copy of your information in a usable format, object to some uses of it, and withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK.
To use any of these rights, email suite8apps@gmail.com. We may need to confirm it is you first.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell you and the OAIC as the law requires.
9. Age
You must be 14 or over to use Sumrise. When you create an account, you confirm that you are 14 or over. If we learn that someone under 14 has an account, we will delete it. Buying Premium needs you to be 18 or over.
Sumrise is not designed for children. If you think a child under 14 has given us information, please email suite8apps@gmail.com and we will remove it.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage. Some are essential, and some only run if you agree. See our Cookie notice for the detail and how to change your choices.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email.
